"Penrose tiles" are a specific geometry of two types of mosaic tiles: kites & darts. When assembled, they create an aperiodic pattern; e.g. never precisely repeating; each iteration of the pattern is unique.
I was disassembling a tea package that was a triangular prism. I accidentally ripped it & identified the pattern as similar to a Penrose kite, though slightly different. Five Penrose darts can be assembled into a pentagon-type geometry; whereas my found object created a hexagonal center because of the central angle of the tea package. Also, Penrose tiles have four sides, mine have five.
